Oracle Database Appliance

ODA (Oracle Database Appliance) improves the cost of ownership by simplifying the procedures for implementation and maintenance and ensuring the continuity of services. Built around the Oracle database, the ODA provides an integrated system of software, servers, storage and networking good for transaction processing (OLTP), In-Memory Database and Data Warehouse applications.
His license capacity-on-demand offers the ability to scale from 2 to 72 processors without the burden of the costs associated to hardware upgrade.
The Oracle Database Appliance hardware X5-2 consist of a 6-unit rack containing two servers Oracle Linux and a storage shelf. Each server has two Intel Xeon 18-core E5-2699 v3, 256GB memory and an 10Gb Ethernet port. The two servers are connected via InfiniBand and share a direct-attached SAS storage with high performance. The device also provides 64TB of raw devices, four 400GB solid state drives for data accessed frequently and four disks (always solid state) 200GB for the redo logs.
ODA allows you to set up quickly,by a single structure, a virtual platform based on Oracle VM that is able to handle database application flows. With licenses capacity-on-demand, finally, both ISVs that end users can manage workflows with different partitioning enabled by Oracle VM.
